(Yes, I understand that he’s being sarcastic most, if not the entire, time) Half the time, down south is anywhere south of Minnesota, doesn’t matter if it’s not technically the southern half of USA. He’s right, we’re not all that nice. Some of us bite. Oh yeah, the hot dish thing. That’s what we usually call a casserole if it’s hot. We eat hotdish a lot, but I’ve not seen fights about it before. It’s about 50/50 on if people go north or south for winter vacation, I think. Depends on if the family actually likes winter activities and has somewhere north to go. My family doesn’t really do vacations during the winter, usually it’s a summer or fall activity. That accent, I’m not sure if he’s deliberately making it stronger or if it’s just that strong, it’s certainly stronger than any other person I’ve heard, we’re not usually that bad.

Hello, Lutfisk eats Swedes at Christmas, an old tradition from when we were poor and needed to save resources throughout the year. The weather looks like a normal spring day, perfect for some sunbathing and a fire to grill sausages. Lovely accent you have, sounds like when I try to speak English :-)

People from northern Ontario think "down south" is Toronto so they're kind of similar. Torontonians think "down south" is Florida, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

As I was growing up in Minnesota I did a lot of California dreamin'. I actually got to live in San Diego for a few years. Now I am a long time resident of the great state of Florida and honestly couldn't see living anywhere else. There is a lot to like about living in Minnesota but these endless Florida summers are enough to keep me happy with my memories of living in the upper Midwest.

MN is fine. I would love having 24 walleye filets in my freezer. 5 pounds of Minnesota hot dogs would be fine. They have deep flavor and think skins. Soaking those franks in hot water for a few minutes make em good and ready.

winter is what you make of it...to many its a favorite season....it can be boring if you are boring or it can be filled with many activities that make it a blast. and a favorite time of year.....Minnesota offers a high average standard of living, perhaps the best in America if it wasn't for the liberal bullshit permeating gov;t.

There are many Minnesotans that will remember the Halloween Blizzard of 1991. Kids started out going door to door in the pouring rain, but by 7pm it was snowing and the temps began to fall. When it was all over, there was a whopping 28.4" of snow on the ground that quickly froze.

OMG, what a doozy. My son at the time was 2 1/2. After the storm, I was snowed in for two days (as was everyone). I needed to get to the grocery store since I was out of things he needed. I was in an apartment so I didn't own a shovel. I spent two hours "shovelling" my car out using a dust pan. I have multiple stories from that storm, but that's the one that popped into my head.

Leave it to “progressive” Minnesota to to rebrand their clannish, passive aggressive behaviors as MINNESOTA NICE. IF you appreciate home spun false sincerity, smug people & more white guilt than Betty White can shake a lutefisk casserole at, Mn. is for you!!! ➕ These Clannish Natives successfully defunded the Mpls. Police Dept. due to “systemic racism.” Hard to believe, but now they’re crying that they’re not enough police & they’re calling that racism. If you just met someone & they told you they have two personalities, you’d run, but this is acceptable behavior in the Twin Cities. Read the Script/Lock Step “nothing but harmony exists in Sanctuary Cities” OR ELSE ➕ Minnesotans voted for infamous, anit-Semite, incestuous, embezzling Illhan Omar 2X’s knowing her wretched past/present behaviors. There once descent schooling system has now shamelessly plummeted into the sad abyss of CRT (everybody’s inherently racist?) while telling your child to keep there new venomous knowledge from there parents. Definitely a blissful sanctuary city for criminals. Recently, a Cuban Undocumented man with such a long list of criminal activity that not even Cuba would take him back. Adding to his long nightmarish list he should of been in jail after several recent domestic assault charges & setting fire to his apt., but an Mn. judge saw him fit to be let out which he than decides to decapitate his girlfriend (in broad daylight in a car) with a machete, on a thoroughfare, no one suspected a thing…..that’s so Minnesota. They never see, hear, say anything until it affects them personally. Than it’s everyones problem!!! Not to mention the out breaks of early morning/evening burglaries at (appropriately named) Target stores in which everyone in the community talks about, but you never hear about on the local news. However, they will go into great lengths in telling you all about the juggler at the Renaissance Festival that broke his arm because that’s “relevant, in-depth, courageous journalism.” It’d be laughable if this beautiful state didn’t continue to burn in its own self-edifying Mn.Nice B.S. NOTHING TO SEE HERE KIDS…next…….. to his apt., but an Mn. judge saw him fit to be let out which he than decides to decapitate his girlfriend (in broad daylight in a car) with a machete, on a thoroughfare, no one suspected a thing…..that’s so Minnesota. I dont really get this. Im Hungarian and a couple of years ago I vas on a fantastic vacation travelling both USA and Canada. When I was in Minnesota during July and August Minnesotans always talked about how cold the winters are there. How much snow they always get each winter. Then I went north to Canada and no Canadians said a word about how cold their Canadian winters are. I mean Canadian winters must be even colder? Considering it borders on the northern borde of USA.
